First off, cue the confetti because you’re engaged! That’s so exciting. Choosing your perfect wedding photographer is no easy task. You’ve got a lot of decisions to make like: what to wear, who’s will be your florist, where the wedding will be, and all of the invitations you need to send. Believe me, I’ve been there and have also been in countless weddings. Let me tell you, there is almost ALWAYS something that will go wrong, so let’s get this thing right. Here are some important things to ask your potential wedding photographer:
Do you have packages? (These should answer a lot more questions but you might need to ask more.)
Is my ideal wedding date available?
Are engagement pictures included?
How many other weddings do you have that same weekend (or week)?
Do you have a second shooter or assistant in mind?
Can I see a gallery of your most recent wedding?
Do you have a contract? (this should also answer questions about what happens if there are weather problems, etc.)
Do you require a deposit?
When are payments due?
Do we get to download all the images hi-res?
What if we want prints or an album?
Do you charge a travel fee?
Do you shoot digital or film or both?
